We implement the following policy to sustain the economic welfare of both Doğuş Otomotiv and all of our stakeholders:
The economic value created for key stakeholders is a main indicator of Doğuş Otomotiv’s economic responsibility performance.
MARKET PRESENCE POLICY
Doğuş Otomotiv, as a company leading economic development in the areas of operation, is committed to increasing local employment, supporting economic betterment of its employees, and contributing to revival of local economy by way of supply chain. With the help of new investments made in this direction, contribution to local employment has continued throughout the year.
Doğuş Otomotiv, within the scope of its human resources policy that respects “equal rights for equal work”, does not discriminate while determining remuneration of employees. This policy has been disclosed to the public fully and explicitly in the Doğuş Otomotiv Code of Ethics.
Doğuş Otomotiv’s Şekerpınar Campus in Istanbul is where the organization’s operations are heavily carried out. Despite being located outside of Istanbul, its geographic proximity to the city, and being in a logistic control point in the Marmara region make it a central base for the Company. The employment policy at Şekerpınar Campus that houses all the administrative structure and logistics operations intends to procure employment from the surrounding regions. However, employees that reside in Istanbul are also considered local. Accordingly, the entire personnel employed at the Şekerpınar Campus were recruited in compliance with local employment policies.
In 2014, Doğuş Otomotiv invested in a new center, “The Value and Care Center”, or DIM, in Kavacık, Istanbul to carry out such activities as listening to customer complaints, coordinating road assistance services, and conducting customer surveys. The recruitments for the Value and Care Center, which offers round the clock service, are also in compliance with local employment policies.
The remuneration of Doğuş Otomotiv employees is determined, taking into account the sectoral balances and considering regional comparison studies. The wages of Doğuş Otomotiv employees are above the minimum legal limits, and generally above sector averages.
INDIRECT ECONOMIC IMPACT POLICY
Doğuş Otomotiv has direct economic impact on the community in the regions where it operates. In addition to contributing to local employment, Doğuş Otomotiv takes great care to ensure that the products and services procured for its operations are products and services sourced from local suppliers. With a continually expanding and evolving network of Authorized Dealers and After-sales Service Centers, Doğuş Otomotive continues to be a supporter of economic development in all regions across Turkey.
As a supporter of several initiatives and enterprises that contribute to the community, the development of the business world and the economy, and the solution of problems faced by the industry, Doğuş Otomotiv is also an active player on a number of cooperation platforms.
Doğuş Otomotiv is part of a large supply and economic chain with its subsidiaries and affiliates.
ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
Doğuş Otomotiv’s environmental policy is grouped under five headings; Water, Waste, Energy, Logistics and Environment Friendly Products. Doğuş Otomotiv,

Doğuş Otomotiv’s environmental responsibility policy and related objectives are monitored and managed by the Corporate Governance and Sustainability Committee reporting directly to the Board of Directors.
Doğuş Otomotiv operates in the sales and after-sales services segment in the automotive industry. It is also the first company in Turkey and the world to publish a Sustainability Report in global standards by conducting a priority focus area study. Therefore, identifying environmental priorities specific to the industry, being a role model in this respect, and determining the strategic steps for the industry to take toward sustainability have also taken their place among the many firsts Doğuş Otomotiv has launched.
Doğuş Otomotiv’s environmental impact along its lifecycle is grouped under five headings:
Doğuş Otomotiv imports environment friendly products, whose lifecycles have been fully integrated into the environmental management systems and whose full environmental impact has been assessed via lifecycle analyses, and provides sales and after-sales services with processes that are diligently inspected by OEMs.
In addition to the environmental management system that evolves each year, we strive to raise awareness of environmental responsibility both within the Company and also among the Subsidiaries in our value chain, Authorized Dealers and After-sales Service Centers, as well as the suppliers for which we assume responsibility.
Environmental policy and related issues at Doğuş Otomotiv are monitored by our Environmental Expert, while data collection, improvement and planning activities are carried out in coordination with the Sustainability Council.
With the awareness or environmental responsibility, we are trying to build among our Authorized Dealers and After-sales Service Centers as well as the environmental responsibility work carried out by our brands, we strive to step up our efforts to minimize our environmental impact.
ENERGY EFFICIENCY POLICY
We at Doğuş Otomotiv continue to work toward using the energy we consume to carry out our operations more efficiently, ensuring that this process is monitored, improvement methods are developed, and managed, and improving operational efficiency by reducing the use of energy resources.
Doğuş Otomotiv’s energy need is provided by Doğuş Energy, a Doğuş Holding subsidiary that generates power from renewable resources.
WATER MANAGEMENT POLICY
Doğuş Otomotiv started its efforts towards reducing water consumption according to the results of material focus areas study conducted in 2010. The practices to reduce our water consumption for the first five years were managed with the following strategy:
With the renewed materiality study in 2017, water management strategies and targets will be reported under the Climate Change main topic.
EMISSION MANAGEMENT POLICY
Doğuş Otomotiv carries out risk assessments while managing all operations and complies with all applicable laws and regulations. Emissions resulting from Doğuş Otomotiv operations’ consumption of energy (electricity, natural gas and fuel), paper use and waste have been calculated since 2010.
Studies regarding emission calculations continue and grow each year. Emissions per vehicle sold are published in the Sustainability report every year.
WASTE MANAGEMENT POLICY
Doğuş Otomotiv continually works to enhance its environmental management system and to reach more data. Regularly assessing the waste resulting from our operations, we strive to minimize our environmental impact, beyond legal requirements, and collaborate with various institutions to realize our recycling strategy.
Waste Paper
Waste paper is collected in the boxes of Ayhan Şahenk Foundation and send to Sadık Paper Company regularly for recycling. Paper Consumptions are determined in out Sustainability Report every year.
Waste Oil
As required by legislation (Regulation of Waste Oil Control), Doğuş Otomotiv has to deliver its waste engine oil to PETDER (Turkish Petroleum Industry Association), the only organization authorized by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization of the Turkish Republic. Within this scope, we have signed the “Participation in Waste Oil Management Protocol” with PETDER, renewed every year. PETDER is responsible for collecting waste engine oil from our Authorized After-sales Service Centers in Turkey.
Waste Batteries
Doğuş Otomotiv has an obligation (APAK Directive) of recycling 90% of the batteries released to the market. In order to fulfill our obligation, we collaborate with AKÜDER. Our waste batteries are collected in line with the “Waste Management Plan” of AKÜDER.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF PRODUCTS AND SERVICES POLICY
Doğuş Otomotiv is the distributor of the world’s leading brands in terms of producing environmentally friendly products. In this context, because of the technological advancements of our OEMs and their R&D activities, emissions resulting from the vehicles sold are decrease every year. Our technical services also conform to the standards of the brands with which we have distribution agreements, and are controlled with regular audits during the year.
Doğuş Otomotiv services’ environmental impact is evaluated and managed carefully as well. Doğuş Otomotiv reflects the related data through its Sustainability Report every year, targets set and the commitment to reducing our environmental impact.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF LOGISTICS OPERATIONS POLICY
Doğuş Otomotiv’s main area of activity is distributorship. To reduce our emissions resulting from our logistics activities and our negative impact on the environment, several improvement studies are carried out from replacement parts distribution to logistics cage exports, and from vehicle distribution to import logistics. Doğuş Otomotiv is committed to reducing the environmental impact of its operations in logistics operations as well as in other areas within the scope of environmental life cycle.
POLICY FOR ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY IN SUPPLIERS
In all supplier contracts, suppliers are expected to act with environmental responsibility while conducting their operations. Supplier audits also monitor whether the company manages its environmental impacts or not.

EQUAL PAY TO EQUAL WORK POLICY
Doğuş Otomotiv believes that the right remuneration management system is ‘equal pay for equal work’ by using job evaluation methods for each position, and supports the remuneration system with regional and industry analyses, taking necessary action to build a competitive system consistent with the market. As in all of its processes, Doğuş Otomotiv accepts principle of equality as a prerequisite in all remuneration processes.
EVALUATING SUPPLIERS FOR WORKFORCE PRACTICES MANAGEMENT APPROACH
Doğuş Otomotiv incorporated Sustainability-related criteria into supplier audits in 2014. Ensuring that legal and social rights of the employees are delivered by our suppliers is also included among these criteria.
Employees/Management Relations Management Approach
Employees are Doğuş Otomotiv’s foremost priority among key stakeholders. There are various dialog platforms at Doğuş Otomotiv and Doğuş Oto where employees interact both with one another and also with managers and senior management. All of these platforms enable our employees to communicate their opinions and suggestions directly to senior management and to be informed about company-related matters, objectives and strategies. Sharing information with employees about the changes in organization, operations, strategies and targets is included in our internal communication strategies. Furthermore, Doğuş Otomotiv uses its intranet actively for such communications. Doğuş Otomotiv observes legal notification periods.
OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY
The occupational health and safety (OHS) practices in Doğuş Otomotiv operated businesses are carried out in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331 and other applicable Legislation.
Employer representatives, workplace physicians, healthcare employees, occupational safety specialists, administrative affairs officials, human resources officials, team leaders on committee, employee representatives and officials from subcontractors participate in the Occupational Health & Safety Committee meetings.
The OHS Committees evaluate the decisions made the previous month on legal requirements, near-accident cases, work-related accidents, occupational diseases, periodic control results, OHS site observations and employee opinions, and reach decisions for the upcoming periods.
Training and Learning Management Approach
Doğuş Otomotiv regards supporting both professional, and also personal and social development of its employees a part of its human resources policy. Therefore, a training and learning policy that is in alignment with both the organization’s priorities and also the employees’ expectations is applied. The company regularly inquires about these expectations and demands, and develops training models accordingly.
PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT POLICY
Performance Management System consists of three periods: target entry, target revision, and performance appraisal. The performance process of all employees is monitored and coordinated by the Human Resources department. Wages and bonuses are managed based on performance.
Employees’ training and rotation requests are received via the D-Human performance system and appropriate plans for training and rotation are developed. Following performance appraisals, career and succession plans are developed for managers, directors and general managers based on the performance of their subordinates. In internal appointments and position changes, appraisals are conducted over these plans. Furthermore, mandatory and optional trainings have been identified for positions, and the participation of employees has been ensured.
HUMAN RIGHTS POLICY
At Doğuş Otomotiv;
Human Rights commitments of the company are based on United Nations Global Compact Principles, of which it is a signatory, and United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights;
Human rights are an integral part of Ethical Principles, and the company expects all of its employees and business partners to act in accordance with these principles and Doğuş Otomotiv Human Rights policy.
The company complies with all national and international laws and regulations on human rights, and similarly requires all of its business partners to comply with all applicable legislation.
The company respects the rights of communities living in the regions it operates, takes precautions against violations of rights, and manages related risks.
Human Rights in Investments Management Approach
Doğuş Otomotiv is committed to making decisions regarding all business and relevant operations in line with United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and organizing all activities accordingly. Pursuant to Articles 1 and 2 of United Nations Global Compact Principles, the company has declared this commitment explicitly.
Non-Discrimination Management Approach
The concept of “diversity” for Doğuş Otomotiv involves accepting and respecting the religious, structural and cultural differences of employees, customers and other social stakeholders.
Doğuş Otomotiv values diversity, and also believes that it enriches an organization.

Child Labor Management Approach
Doğuş Otomotiv, as a signatory of United Nations Global Compact, does not allow child labor at any stage of its operations under any circumstances. Regional Directors of After-sales Services are informed of this approach and supported during recruitment of staff to be employed at Authorized After-sales Service Centers. This issue is incorporated into and assured by supplier agreements and taken into consideration during annual audits.
Forces and Compulsory Labor Management Approach
Doğuş Otomotiv, as a signatory of United Nations Global Compact, does not allow forced or compulsory labor under any condition that violates laws and regulations at any stage of its operations. This is also applicable for Doğuş Otomotiv’s suppliers, all of its subsidiaries and affiliates. Supplier audits include relevant criteria.
All employees of our Company are insured starting from the first day of employment, and this is assured during both internal and external audits. As required by law, every year in January all employees are informed that they may be asked to work overtime when necessary, and their consent is obtained. Doğuş Otomotiv also requires all Authorized Dealers and After-sales Service Centers and suppliers within its sphere of influence to show the same sensitivity and performs necessary audits.
Security Practices Management Approach
Security services are procured from third party companies in all regions where Doğuş Otomotiv operates. As with all suppliers, Doğuş Otomotiv principles and policies have been shared with the security service provider in a protocol, and necessary information has been communicated.
Right of Local Communities Management Approach
Doğuş Otomotiv respects all the rights of the local community in the regions it operates and attaches particular importance to so-called “social approval” as a way of doing business.
Evaluation of Suppliers for Human Rights Management Approach
Starting from 2014, Doğuş Otomotiv has incorporated criteria that pertain to social, environmental, and ethical factors including human rights into supplier audits.

Doğuş Otomotiv operates and delivers services under safe, humane and ethical working conditions. The company also respects the rights of the communities in the regions where it operates. Doğuş Otomotiv’s environmental and social responsibility policies include the welfare, development and growth of the community in which it directly exists. Accordingly, the company collaborates with various institutions and organizations, and strives to contribute to economic and social development. The society’s environmental, economic and ethical expectations from Doğuş Otomotiv are investigated with the help of several perception studies and surveys, and integrated into corporate strategies. Doğuş Otomotiv has no operations subject to environmental and social impact assessments.
Anti-Corruption Management Approach
As stipulated by Doğuş Otomotiv’s Code of Ethics, and Anti-Bribery and Anti-corruption Policy, accepting or offering bribes or kickbacks that constitute a legal crime, is strictly prohibited. Asking customers, suppliers, Doğuş Otomotiv competitors or third parties for personal loans, special privileges or discounts different from those offered to everyone, is also strictly prohibited.

Doğuş Otomotiv monitors the social and environmental impacts of its products and services, and is aware of its responsibility towards all social stakeholders and ecological environment. The Doğuş Otomotiv distributorships and After-sales Services brands have quality control processes according to international standards. Processes conforming to manufacturer standards are managed when informing users about products and services. Relevant documents are provided to fully and accurately inform our customers about our products and services.

Doğuş Otomotiv complies with laws and regulations in all its operations regarding marketing communications including advertising, sponsorship and promotional activities.
