Doğuş Otomotiv addresses its biodiversity approach on two levels within the scope of its business model and value chain. The first involves monitoring potential environmental impacts arising from the location characteristics of facilities and service locations, service processes, waste and wastewater management, logistics activities, and value chain practices. The second involves strengthening biodiversity awareness in the community through nature observation, species awareness, bird migration routes, and the Spreading Our Wings to Nature community awareness program.

Operational assessments consider both the relationship of locations with protected areas and Key Biodiversity Areas (KBAs) and environmental control practices related to service operations. Preventing water and soil pollution, separating waste, directing hazardous waste to authorized organizations, and monitoring environmental practices across the Authorized Dealer and Service Center Network support this approach.

Biodiversity-related matters are assessed together with environmental performance, value chain impacts, water and resource use, waste management, the location of Authorized Dealers and Service Centers within or in proximity to biodiversity-related areas, and community awareness. This structure brings together the monitoring of potential impacts arising from operations and the development of awareness of nature and species within the same approach.

Operations and Value Chain

Potential environmental impacts arising from the location characteristics of facilities and service locations, service and logistics processes, waste and wastewater management, and value chain practices are monitored.

Environmental Awareness

Nature observation, species awareness, bird migration routes, and activities related to natural habitats support efforts to strengthen biodiversity awareness in the community.

Operational monitoring in terms of biodiversity is carried out based on the site characteristics of facilities and service locations, their proximity to protected areas, and their relationship with Key Biodiversity Areas (KBAs). Key Biodiversity Areas are areas of particular importance for the conservation of biodiversity. These spatial relationships are assessed together with environmental control practices in service and logistics processes.

Oil and water separator systems used in service and logistics processes, the transfer of hazardous waste to licensed companies, the separation of packaging and parts waste, and controls addressing the risks of water and soil pollution support the prevention of potential impacts on biodiversity. Environmental practices across the Authorized Dealer and Service Center Network are also monitored through brand standards, contracts, quality and sustainability assessments, and training.

Location and Ecosystem Sensitivity

The spatial relationship of facilities and service locations with protected areas and Key Biodiversity Areas is assessed as part of environmental monitoring.

Prevention of Water and Soil Pollution

Control practices in service and logistics processes are implemented to prevent the environmental impacts of pollutants that may enter water and soil.

Waste and Material Management

Hazardous waste is directed to authorized organizations, while packaging and parts waste is separated by type and directed to appropriate management processes.

Authorized Dealer and Service Center Network

Environmental expectations and practices are supported through standards, assessments, and training across the network.

Spreading Our Wings to Nature is Doğuş Otomotiv’s long-term awareness program contributing to biodiversity awareness. The program aims to raise awareness of Turkey’s important bird migration routes and natural habitats and to support observation, communication, education, and field activities focused on the protection of birds and their habitats.

Conducted in collaboration with nature and wildlife photographer Alper Tüydeş, the program brings environmental awareness to the community through nature observations, educational programs, nature workshops, birdwatching activities, and various communication initiatives. The program links Doğuş Otomotiv’s environmental awareness activities with its community engagement approach.
